June and July are busy! Now we’ve done the Keele Community Day, we’ve got three more events coming up!
June 16th, Royal Three Counties Show, Malvern. http://www.threecounties.co.uk/threecounties/
We’ll be in the discover zone, making slime and elephant’s toothpaste!
June 26th, RAF Cosford, Chemistry at Work Day. http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/documents/Cosford/Educational-visits/Chemistry_event2013.pdf
We’ll be running an activity on catalysts, linking into our catalysis research. The link contains details for bookings.
July 9th, Keele University, ChemNet Day. http://www.rsc.org/ConferencesAndEvents/conference/alldetails.cfm?evid=113261
We’ll be tackling the analysis of the Victorian Pharmacy at the Black Country Living Museum with A-level students. The link above contains details for bookings. Last year this event was a great hit (when we tackled the Blists Hill pharmacy). You can read my colleague’s (Dr Jane Essex) write up of the project in a recent Education in Chemistry article: http://www.rsc.org/Education/EiC/issues/2013May/victorian-pharmacy-chemical-analysis.asp
So it’s going to be a busy time of it…but really good fun!
